*Sam Onuigbo and his Leadership Strides: Outstanding Positions for Outstanding Performance*

Henry Uwalaka

The road to greatness of any man begins with what he does with opportunity and trust. Like Jesus Christ parable of the talent in the Bible, opportunity and trust were given to the three servants by their master who gave them different talents (minas) while embarking on a journey to see what they could do with it. Two performed well while one failed.

Hon. Sam Onuigbo, former house of representative member, Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constitutency and presently, board member, North East Development Commission (NEDC) like the servant who gained additional 5 minas from the 5 minas given to him has not just make use of opportunity and trust bestowed on him, but has equally distinguished himself in public and humanitarian services.

Onuigbo as a man who anchored his public and political philosophy on the principles of Effectiveness, Accessibility and Responsiveness has from the beginning of his public life created the space for these outstanding qualities. No doubt this people centered ideology brought him to the limelight. Every stage of his selfless service and commitment to the course of humanity brings him to the next stage.

His appointment as Special Adviser, Public Affairs, Office of the speaker, House of Representatives, 6th Assembly moved him to commissioner for Lands and Survey to commissioner for Finance, Abia State. Also, former board member, International Glass industries Limited Aba, then to member House of Representatives, Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constitutency from 2015–2023, Vice President Global Legislators Organization for Balanced Environment (GLOBE), Nigeria 8 Assembly and president Globe Nigeria, Vice President (Africa) GLOBE International, Chairman, Climate Parliament Nigeria, 2020 – 2023. Today, the same force that drive him, has taken him to board member North East Development Commission NEDC.
