AKWA IBOM GOV’T TO PARTNER ICSAN ON EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF ARISE AGENDA

The Akwa Ibom State Government has expressed its readiness to partner corporate organisations, including the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), for effective implementation of the ARISE Agenda.

The state Deputy Governor, Senator (Dr) Akon Eyakenyi, stated this Friday, at the Ibom Icon Hotel, Uyo, during the 5th Annual Dinner of ICSAN which was used to receive and its National Vice President, Mrs. Uto Ukpanah, FCIS.

Acknowledging their role and expertise in corporate governance and public administration, Dr. Eyakenyi noted that it would not be out of place to collaborate with ICSAN in the task of developing Akwa Ibom State, especially, through the ARISE Agenda.

“You are all familiar with the ARISE Agenda that has been properly interpreted. Akwa Ibom people were involved fully in the Ibom Dialogue which produced the final copy of the ARISE Agenda. We are now in the implementation stage.

“Considering the expertise of ICSAN in corporate governance and administration, its support is needed at this implementation stage of our governance blueprint – the ARISE Agenda.

“We will need your hand at each level for the proper implementation of the ARISE Agenda and I’m very certain that in your Conference, issues were raised and answers given on how to do effective public administration for enhanced service delivery. We cannot have strong women and builders at the national and state level of ICSAN without having able hands to aid in the effective implementation of the ARISE Agenda”, she noted.

The Deputy Governor particularly showered encomiums on the Honouree and ICSAN National Vice President, Mrs Uto Ukpanah, on her giant strides in public service and wished her more years of accomplishments.

“You wouldn’t have been where you are today or achieved all that has been said about you, if you were not diligent. You were diligent and committed in whatever role you found yourself”, she added.

Earlier, the Chairman on the Occasion and Wife of the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Martha Emmanuel, described Mrs. Ukpanah as an asset to humanity, stressing that the Honouree has also been a great mentor to many across the country.

Similarly, the National President of ICSAN, Mrs. Funmi Ekundayo, appreciated the Akwa Ibom State Government for its support to the Institute in the state and also thanked Mrs Ukpanah for her contributions to the growth of ICSAN in Nigeria.
