*14 BRIGADE MUSLIM SOCIETY PAY COURTESY VISIT TO COMMANDER 14 BRIGADE HOLDS END OF RAMADAN TAFSEER AND WELFARE DISTRIBUTION*

The leadership of the 14 Brigade Muslim Society, Ohafia, on thursday 12 March 2026 paid a courtesy visit to the Commander, Brigadier General Ahmad Mansur Dikko, at the Headquarters 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Ohafia Abia State.

The delegation, led by Mrs Halima Gambo expressed their appreciation for the Commander’s unwavering support, leadership and commitment to the welfare of personnel and families within the barracks community. Mrs Gambo also commended the Commander for the various initiatives he has undertaken to improve the living conditions and general wellbeing of troops and their families.

She noted that the Muslim community within the barracks has continued to experience peace, unity and religious harmony under the leadership of General AM Dikko. She further acknowledged that the members of the Muslim society were deeply grateful for his open-door policy and encouragement of community-driven initiatives aimed at promoting welfare and spiritual development within the barracks.

In his remarks, the Commander, Brig Gen AM Dikko expressed appreciation for the visit and prayers, also noting their continued support to the leadership of the Brigade. He reiterated the importance of unity, peaceful coexistence and mutual support among residents of the barracks community.

Furthermore, he encouraged members of the Muslim Society to take advantage of the commercial opportunities being created within the barracks, particularly r trading activities at the mammy market. He noted that the initiative was designed to boost economic activities within the barracks and provide sustainable sources of livelihood for families of personnel. Additionally, the Commander, assured the group of his continuous support towards initiatives that promote welfare, unity and community development.

Earlier, the 14 Brigade Central Mosque successfully organized End of Ramadan Tafseer for women in the barracks and welfare distribution programme for 2026. The event brought together women within the barracks community for spiritual reflection, learning and charitable outreach.

During the programme, religious scholars delivered the final Ramadan Tafseer, emphasizing the values of compassion, charity, patience and devotion as taught during the holy month of Ramadan. The session provided an opportunity for women to deepen their understanding of Islamic teachings and strengthen their spiritual commitments. Part of the welfare package distributed during the occasion were food items and essential materials presented to widows and newly converted muslim women within the barracks community.

The initiative forms part of efforts by the muslim society to share the blessings of ramadan and extend support to those in need.

On the other hand, the beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude for the gesture, noting that the support would significantly ease their burdens and encourage stronger community bonds among members of the barracks.

The programme concluded with prayers for the leadership of the Nigerian Army, the Brigade and the nation at large, asking Allah to reward all contributors abundantly and accept the gesture as an act of charity.
