Ohuhu Council of Traditional Rulers Condemned The Vain Glory by Some Eze’s Who’s Move is to Sponsor Crisis
It has come to the attention of the Ohuhu Council of Traditional Rulers, ably led by His Royal Majesty, Eze Charles Chionye Ngwuli, that a group of seven disgruntled Ndieze, parading themselves as “Concerned Members of Ohuhu Traditional Rulers,” recently addressed the media, questioning decisions duly taken by the Council.
Ordinarily, the Council would have ignored such an infantile and baseless outburst. However, leaving it unaddressed risks misleading Ndi Ohuhu, particularly as the intent of the group appears to be to incite disaffection and undermine the authority of the Royal Fathers in pursuit of narrow, selfish interests.
For the record, these seven individuals, who do not reside within the community, have long ceased attending meetings of the Ohuhu Council of Traditional Rulers. As such, they lack the moral standing and legitimacy to question or comment on decisions reached by the Council.
The issues raised in their statement, in what can only be described as a desperate bid for relevance and vain glory, seek to reopen matters that have already been conclusively resolved. This amounts to an attempt to incite members of the dissolved Caretaker Committee of the Ohuhu Welfare Union to disobedience and possible unrest.
Their call for the dissolved Caretaker Committee to proceed with organizing elections—despite its dissolution in the overall interest of Ohuhu—constitutes a clear act of incitement and is being treated with the utmost seriousness by the Council.
The Council is also aware, through credible information, that these individuals have been holding clandestine meetings aimed at destabilizing the traditional institution and recruiting others into their misguided agenda. Notably, some respected traditional rulers whose names were invoked to lend credibility to this group have firmly dissociated themselves from such actions, leaving the group isolated in its pursuit.
The Council urges Ndi Ohuhu to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding. The Ohuhu Welfare Union elections will be conducted in due course, once all necessary processes and structures are properly put in place. No individual or group is greater than Ohuhu, and the Council remains steadfast in its commitment to peace, unity, and the collective progress of Ndi Ohuhu.
The reasons for the dissolution of the Caretaker Committee have been clearly communicated through official correspondence and prior statements issued by the Council. It is therefore disturbing that these individuals continue to ignore those facts.
It is our earnest hope and prayer that Ohuhu will be guided toward leadership that is selfless, credible, and emerges through a transparent and broadly acceptable process.
