Abia State Government hands over renovated Buildings to Federal College of Education Ofeme Umuahia
The Abia State government has performed the official handover of renovated buildings to the Federal College of Education Ofeme Umuahia
Speaking during the handover ceremony the Deputy Governor of Abia State Engr Ikechukwu Emetu commended the Contractors for completing the Project on time and within budget and praised the College Management for their efforts in maintaining and upgrading the facilities.
Engr Emetu stated that the renovation project is aimed at providing a conducive learning environment for Students and also a comfortable and safe environment for Academic activities.
Earlier in an address the provost of the College Dr Titus S. Ezeme thanked the Abia State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Dr Alex Otti OFR for the renovated structures describing the buildings as not just structures but the foundation of a future that promises Academic excellence, professional development and national transformation, he therefore on behalf of the Management and Students of the College expressed their profound gratitude to all who made their dream come true .
Adding her voice, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Haija Rabia Adamu thanked the Governor for his contributions to the realization of the Project describing it as the beginning of greater things to come and therefore called for collaborative efforts from the stakeholders to ensure smooth running of the College.
Also speaking,the Registrar of the College, Mrs Felicia Coman Ibe thanked God for the gift of the College and the State Governor for his support to the College and thanked all who attended
Highlight of the Occasion was the cutting of the tape by the Deputy Governor Engr Emetu and prayers by the Traditional Rulers from Ohuhu Land
On behalf of Umuahia North Council of traditional rulers, HRM Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu Oroko Abia appreciated the governor for the good job he is doing across Abia, the education transformation, noting that Ndi Eze is happy with Governor Otti, Eze Ofoegbu added that the good work has earned him another tenure.
Oroko Abia said that any ambitious person should wait till Governor Alex Chioma Otti completes his second term to cement this good jobs Abia State is witnessing.
