ABIA STATE POLICE COMMAND ASSURES OF SAFETY: PUTS IN PLACE NECESSARY SECURITY MEASURES IN VIEW OF UPCOMING NLC PROTESTS

1. The Abia State Police Command hereby informs the public that necessary measures have been emplaced to ensure the successful conduct of peaceful protests by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), scheduled for 27th and 28th February, 2024. This was after a successful meeting held by the Commissioner of Police CP kenechukwu Onwuemelie , with a delegation of NLC in Abia state, today 26th February 2024, at the Command Headquarters Umuahia. The NLC delegation was led by Comrade Okoro Ogbonnaya.

2. The NLC delegation assured the Command of peaceful protests and pledged to work collaboratively with security operatives to ensure that the protests are hitch-free in the state.

3. The Commissioner of Police hereby reiterates the Abia State Police Command’s commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and property of all residents of the state.
