ARISE YOUTH: AKWA IBOM YOUTH HAIL GOV. ENO AS HE FULFILS HIS PROMISE TODAY
…15000 youth to go home with 50,000 Naira in first batch.
As youth in parts of the Country are withdrawing from celebrating politicians due to unfulfilled campaign promises, the youth of Akwa Ibom State, from Mbo to Oron, Uyo to Etinan, Ikot Ekpene to Ika, and all the 31 Local Government Areas role out drums to celebrate Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, for fulfilling the promise he made to them three months ago.
On Monday, 21st October, 2024, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State launched what he called “Arise Youth Employment Portal”, for ease of recruitment of youth in Akwa Ibom State to fill various vacancies in the State’s Civil Service and Private Organizations. The Governor went ahead to promise that the first 60,000 youth to register and submits their details through the Employment Portal shall be paid a one off payment of 50,000 each, and that 5000 youth shall be selected from the portal for the monthly payment to empower them start a small business at their corner. Yes! Business. With the sum of 50,000 Naira, a determine individual can start a recharge card business, Phone repairs, or even payment for apprenticeship. While some youth celebrated the launching of the Arise youth employment portal and rush to submit their details immediately after the portal was launched by the Governor, some of the youths doubted the Governor’s intervention moves, dismissing it as false.
Today, the first batch of 15000 forward looking youth, who keyed into the Governor’s vision as our father and number one leader in Akwa Ibom State, shall be smiling to the bank as they will be 50,000 Naira richer. A move widely acclaim to be the first of its kind, as it has never been attempted by any leader in Akwa Ibom State. Note, this empowerment is done across party lines, as hunger does not recognize political party according to the Governor.
These, and so many other reasons have secured the position of the “Governor of the year” for our amiable Governor as published by the Leadership Newspaper yesterday, Wednesday 18th December, 2024, after a critical voting process.
Similarly, Governor Umo Eno had on 10th September, 2024 doles out 310 Million Naira to the youths from all the 31 Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State as fulfillment of his promise to the youths, should they stayed out of the plan #EndBadGovernment Protest that took place in the Country from 1st to 10th of August, 2024. Indeed, the youth of Akwa Ibom State avoided the mass protest and the proud father of the State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, rewarded them handsomely. Without an attempt to singing the Governor’s praises as many would love to say, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, the performing Governor of Akwa Ibom State is indeed a promise keeper.
This year alone, the Governor has bagged several awards in testament of his commitment in implementing the ARISE Agenda, the blueprint of his golden era administration in all sectors of the State’s economy. Such award includes, the most media friendly Governor, the best Tourism Governor, The most Education friendly Governor, and the most recent Governor of the year award by the Leadership Newspaper. There are several other awards won by Governor Umo Eno in just 18 Months in office that I need not bother you about.
With what the Governor is doing for the youths of Akwa Ibom State, it is expected that they should be able to reciprocate his kind gesture in 2027, when the Governor shall be seeking for a second term in office. Since 1999 that Nigeria returned to Democracy, Akwa Ibom State have had her fair share, the three Governors that successfully governed the State from 1999, namely, Obong Victor Attah, Senator Godswill Akpabio and Mr. Udom Emmanuel have had an opportunity of governing the State for 8 Years each. It will not be out of place for the youths of the State to rally round and deliver the Governor for his second term in office, to continue with his good work for the people of Akwa Ibom State.
