In a strong demonstration of unity, civil-military cooperation, and leadership, the Commander, 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General AM Dikko, hosted a successful Easter Luncheon bringing together troops of Sub-Sector 4 Operation UDO KA and members of the host community in Amangwu, Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.
The well-attended event drew a distinguished gathering that included the Garrison Commander, Lieutenant Colonel AA Ango; respected traditional leaders such as His Royal Majesty, Engr Akwu Aja Obobi, Ezeogo Mmeche Ugbu and Chief Stone Kalu President General of Amangwu; Chief Kalu Idika; as well as officers and soldiers of 14 Brigade. The occasion provided a unique platform for strengthening bonds, fostering mutual trust, and reinforcing the spirit of camaraderie between the Nigerian Army and the civil populace.
In his keynote address, Brigadier General Dikko underscored the importance of teamwork, unity, and sustained cooperation in achieving operational success. He reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to the Command Philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, which is anchored on five key pillars: Professional Excellence, Robust Administration, Operational Readiness, Strategic Cooperation, and Exemplary Leadership. He noted that these guiding principles continue to shape the conduct and engagements of the Nigerian Army across all theatres of operation.
A highlight of the event was an interactive session between troops and community representatives, which further deepened understanding and mutual respect. In a symbolic gesture of servant leadership and inclusivity, the Commander personally served meals to troops and guests, reflecting the Brigade’s dedication to humility, unity, and shared purpose.
Speaking on behalf of the host community, Ezeogo Mmeche Ugbu and Chief Stone Kalu commended the Nigerian Army for its unwavering efforts in maintaining peace and security in the area. They expressed appreciation for the Brigade’s consistent engagement with the community and pledged their continued support and cooperation in promoting stability and development.
The Easter Luncheon stands as a testament to the Nigerian Army’s commitment to winning hearts and minds, enhancing troop morale, and strengthening civil-military relations.
