Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has approved two key appointments in the state’s communication and media structure, marking another step in strengthening government information management and engagement with the public.
In a statement released on Saturday, November 30, 2025, and signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Ferdinand Ekeoma and made available to ABN TV, the governor announced the appointment of Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka as the Director General, Abia State Strategic Communications Bureau.
Sir Ememanka, a seasoned media professional and lawyer, previously served as Chief Press Secretary and spokesperson to former Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu. His new role places him at the center of strategic messaging, government public relations, and communication coordination across ministries and agencies.
Also appointed is Comrade Igwe Samuel Obinna, who will serve as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media. His role is expected to enhance the government’s digital engagement, online communication, and public feedback mechanisms across social media platforms.
According to the announcement, both appointments take effect from December 1, 2025.
Governor Otti said the new appointments are part of deliberate efforts to strengthen the administration’s communication architecture, improve transparency, and sustain effective engagement with the people of Abia State.
