Chairman Ndigbo Progressive Traditional Rulers Council HRM Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu responding to questions from News men in Enugu State on Tuesday this week says traditional rulers in south east has not and has no reason to abolish their subjects who are titled Eze Ndi Igbo in the northern and western part of the country.
The revered monarch who has been an age long paramount ruler noted that this Igbo speaking leaders are representing the region very well, their activities of showcasing the people’s culture which has been from the forefathers as inherited.
HRM Eze Ofoegbu who is the chairman Ndigbo Progressive Traditional Rulers Council Oroko Abia says he is not comfortable with anyone condemning the existence of the established Eze Ndigbo in the northern and western part of Nigeria.
HRM Eze Ofoegbu charged the Eze Ndi Igbo at their state of residence to hold firm in promoting Igbo Cultural heritage, teaching their subjects to always remember home and pay homage to their royal fathers, urge them to be supportive to the government of that place they are, but remain neutral, adding that as a leader u don’t indulge yourself into politics but shall be seen as a father to all.
Eze Ofoegbu advised Ndi Igbo living in the western or northern areas to desist from criminalities, but channel their mind towards useful ventures that will make the Igbos proud, charged Eze Ndi Igbo living outside and other Igbo great sons to always pay homage to their royal father’s from their various community’s to attracts more blessings that will establish them.
Eze Ofoegbu further advised the media to be projecting the traditional rulers as they are the custodian of the people’s culture and tradition, urge them to revive the Igbo news as a way of teaching the rich history of Igbo language which has indelible footprints in Nigeria.
