Dr Maduabuchi Gabriel’s Award Well Deserved: Ohuhu Development Union International President Grace Abuja for Michael Okpara Leadership Award

A significant event took place in Abuja as technocrats, political leaders and distinguished personalities gather to honour the legacy of Rt. Honourable Dr. Michael Iheonukara Okpara, the illustrious Premier of the former Eastern Region of Nigeria. Among those to be recognized is Dr. Maduabuchi Prince Gabriel, the President Ohuhu Development Union International, whose leadership and contributions to leadership have earned him the prestigious Premier’s Prize.

Prince Maduabuchi Gabriel recognition at this event is a testament to his commitment to excellence in leadership and public service. Since assuming office, Dr Maduabuchi Gabriel has been praised for his visionary leadership, which aligns closely with the values that Dr. Michael Okpara championed during his tenure as Premier of the Eastern Region from 1959 to 1966. Dr. Okpara was known for his focus on integrity, development, and the pursuit of good governance, ideals that Maduabuchi Gabriel has consistently upheld in his activities.

In a statement released ahead of the event, Chief Uzodimma Okpara, Chairman of the Michael Okpara Foundation, and Tobs Agbaegbu, Publisher of Verbatim Media Group, highlighted the significance of this award. The event, was held at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre, was very historic occasion. Distinguished Senator Pius Anyim, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, chaired the event, while His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the South East Governors Forum, delivered a keynote lecture on “Contemporary Issues on Leadership and Governance in Nigeria: Lessons from the Leadership Philosophy of Dr. Michael Okpara.”

As Dr Maduabuchi receive this well deserved award, his recognition serves as an inspiration to others in leadership positions. It underscores the importance of dedication to public service and the impact that visionary leadership can have on the development of society. The organizing committee expressed confidence that this award will further motivate Dr Maduabuchi to continue his work in advancing the welfare of the people of Ohuhu, Umuahia North of Abia State and beyond, in the spirit of the great Dr. Michael Okpara.
