Eze Ifeanyi Godwin Anyaogu Celebrate New Yam Festival, Confers Chieftaincy Titles on Prominent Nigerians
Eze Ndi Igbo na kosofe Osinachi 1 yesterday had his first new yam festival as a King in kosofe kingdom and honoured 7 promising young men with a chieftaincy title, the chairman Umuahia North council of traditional rulers Eze Sir Innocent Adiele Nwaigwe graced the occasion.
The community eulogized their king Eze Ifeanyi Godwin Anyaogu for making them proud as a true monarch for year on throne following the death of their traditional ruler.
However, the creme de la creme personalities was coronated chieftaincy title by the new younger traditional ruler at the weekend in a ceremony in the kosofe kingdom that attracted mammoth crowd.
He promised to rule the kingdom with honesty and justice and will not yield to temptation but remain a cheerful giver he has been.
He commended Governor Lagos State and the dynamic President of Nigeria for allowing communities in the state to freely elect their traditional rulers, describing him as a Democrat
“I will rule them with the fear of God, I will rule them with honesty and justice, I will not disappoint and I will not yield to temptations and corruptions. By the divine grace of God, I will do my best to uplift Ndi Igbo and Nigerians in any aspect of life.
“I want to appreciate other senior traditional rulers in diaspora like me and my mentor who flew from the east for this occasion, for their disposition as leaders of thoughts in their various respective localities for their free mind, show of love and solidarity he given to his kingdom and entire people to honour a person like him, Eze Anyaogu pledge his total loyalty to the culture initiative of his Excellency for the people of Lagos State”, he stated.
His wife, Ugo Eze Anyaogu said she will assist her husband to succeed on the throne.
“I am very happy for what happened today. My role as his wife is that I will be supporting him. I will direct him to do good always, to rule with the fear of God. I will offer good advices that will be making him to be ruling very well because he is there for our people as the traditional ruler”, she said.
