FCE: PROVOST, INSPECTS ON-GOING 72 ROOM HOSTEL BUILDING
What started like a dream, like a tail by moonlight, like normal political promises, finally became a reality, that was the early story of the Federal College of Education Ofeme.
Many thought that the promise made in 2022 during the run up to the 2023 general election by Abia State All Progressive Congress Governorship candidate, high Chief Ikechi Ememike, PhD, was a fulk with aim of deceiving the people to vote for him and his party.
However, despite not winning the said election, the promise made was kept.
Today, the College has finally come to stay. Lectures has began in earnest with over 150 students.
Apart from lecture halls and administrative blocks built by Abia Governor, Alex Chioma Oti, a 72 bed hostel project is on going.
The institution’s management led by the Provost Dr Ezeme, paid an unannounced inspection of the project.
The Provost who went round the project to check the quality of materials been used and the progress made so far, said that he was impressed with the level of work so far, but complained about certain portion of the job, ” I’ll like to see the contractor so that we can put heads together and correct certain areas so that at the end we will get the desired intent of the federal government”, he said.
Dr. Ezeme, thanked Federal government for given the college the required attention and plead with them not to relent.
