*HONOURING EXCELLENCE: 14 Brigade Decorates Lieutenant Colonel Yakubu Idris*
In a resplendent display of military pageantry and pride, 14 Brigade proudly decorated one of its own, Major Yakubu Dauda Idris, with the prestigious rank of Lieutenant Colonel, at a grand ceremony held at the 14 Brigade Officers’ Mess,, Ohafia, on Tuesday, 8 April 2026.
The ceremony, attended by senior military officers, NYSC members, and other invited guests, marked a significant milestone in Lieutenant Colonel Idris’ illustrious career. Brigadier General AM Dikko, Commander 14 Brigade, led the proceedings, formally adorning Lieutenant Colonel Idris with his new rank insignia.
In his remarks, Brigadier General Dikko praised newly promoted senior officer’s dedication and service, noting that the promotion comes with heightened expectations and complex challenges. “Leadership at this level demands resilience, sound judgment, and unwavering dedication to duty,” he said.
Lieutenant Colonel Idris expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army leadership, his commander, colleagues, and family members for their support throughout his career. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving with renewed zeal, professionalism, and loyalty to the nation.
The ceremony concluded with a group photograph session and a closing prayers. The ceremony symbolized the Nigerian Army’s commitment to recognizing excellence and merit.
