HRM Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu Blasts Eze Okeke: “You Lead an Illegal Group With No Legal Standing”
His Royal Majesty, Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu Oroko Abia, the respected Chairman of the legally recognized Ndigbo Progressive Traditional Rulers Forum, has come out strongly to rebuke and expose Eze Emmanuel Okeke, Chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, for parading what he described as an illegal group not known to any law of the land.
Speaking in response to a recent purported “suspension” move targeted at him, Eze Ofoegbu dismissed the action as laughable and baseless, stressing that Eze Okeke lacks the moral and legal authority to suspend any legitimate traditional ruler, let alone the Chairman of a body registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Eze Okeke is parading a faceless, illegal association that is not registered with any known government institution. It is a group that survives on intimidation, manipulation, and extortion of innocent Igbo sons and daughters, including unsuspecting government officials,” Eze Ofoegbu declared.
The revered monarch challenged Eze Okeke and his cohorts to publicly present their registration documents if indeed they are operating a legitimate and recognized council.
“Let him bring forward their registration certificate. Let the world see the legal framework that backs this so-called council. Until then, everything they say or do remains null and void in the eyes of the law and the people.”
Eze Ofoegbu did not stop there. He took a swipe at the so-called South East Traditional Rulers Council, questioning their impact and relevance in the face of mounting issues facing Ndigbo:
“What has the South East Traditional Rulers Council done in defense of Ndigbo? Where were they when our people were suffering insecurity, marginalization, and economic strangulation? Rather than rise in unity to defend our values and heritage, they have become tools of envy, division, and personal gain.”
He vowed that under his watch, the days of manipulation, backdoor dealings, and unaccountable rulership are over. The Ndigbo Progressive Traditional Rulers Forum, according to him, will continue to defend the dignity of the Igbo people, uphold the traditions of truth and justice, and remain a beacon of lawful representation.
“The era of silence and fear is gone. The truth must be told. Eze Emmanuel Okeke and his group are on the wrong side of history. Let them clean their house before pointing fingers,” Eze Ofoegbu concluded.
