Some Members of the labour party from Aba North today, staged a peaceful protest to the Government House Umuahia over what they described as imposition of candidates in the forthcoming Local Government election.

The protesters who stormed the Government House carrying placards with different inscriptions such as “Iheke is not a registered LP member , we don’t want him as chairman of Aba North LGA”, “stop imposition of councilors and chairman in Aba north LGA, among others”, lamented that they have not benefitted anything from the various grants and palliatives in the past months from the Government.

Speaking on behalf of the protesters, the ex-officio one in Aba north ward 7, Peters Onwumere and the Party’s legal adviser in the LGA, Ezenwa Munaonyeso, appealed to the Governor to allow them exercise their franchise by electing people they know.

Addressing the protesters, Chief Press Secretary to Abia State Governor, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, promised to take their message to the Governor
