OFFICIAL RESIGNATION FROM THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) AND FORMAL DEFECTION TO THE LABOUR PARTY (LP)

My Esteemed Constituents of Umuahia North,

After a period of deep reflection, wide consultations, and with an unwavering commitment to serve you with greater efficiency, I hereby formally resign from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and announce my defection to the Labour Party (LP).

Since 2023, I have had the distinguished honor of representing you as the sole APC legislator in the Abia State House of Assembly. However, prevailing realities within the party have made it increasingly difficult to continue under its fold. The persistent internal crises, factional disputes, and absence of inclusiveness have undermined unity at every level. Throughout my stewardship, I was never invited to any official meeting or activity of the party in the state. Instead, recurring suspensions and counter-suspensions at the ward and local government levels confirmed the deep-rooted disunity.

My ultimate loyalty lies with you the people of Umuahia North whose mandate I carry with pride and responsibility. In line with your counsel, the advice of stakeholders, and in consultation with my political allies and leaders, I have resolved to align with the progressive, people-oriented, and visionary leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, and the Labour Party.

This decision is not driven by personal ambition but by the collective desire to reposition Umuahia North at the center of development-driven, accountable, and people-focused governance.

I remain firmly committed to accountability, transparency, and grassroots development. This step should therefore not be seen as a betrayal, but rather as a reinforcement of my loyalty to you and an unshakable commitment to a brighter future for our constituency.
