Ndigbo Community Development Union Pays Solidarity Visit To Monarch, Cautions Igbo Political Leaders, Prominent Igbo People On Neglect.
The President of the Ndigbo Community Development Union, High Chief Ogbonna, led key executives and stakeholders of the Union on a solidarity visit to His Eminence HRM Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu Oroko Abia, following the unfortunate accident he suffered weeks ago. The visit was a heartfelt moment of gratitude to God for sparing the life of a revered first-class monarch and a reaffirmation of the Union’s unwavering support for traditional institutions.
While addressing the gathering, High Chief Ogbonna emphasized the importance of upholding and respecting the traditional leadership that serves as the soul of the Igbo identity. He assured His Majesty that the Union will continue to stand firmly by him, not just in times of crisis but as a symbol of unity and cultural pride.
However, High Chief Ogbonna did not mince words in expressing deep disappointment at the silence and indifference shown by those who claim to represent the Igbo people on the political stage. He particularly admonished figures such as igbo political leaders at the National and State level, Igbo business mogul for their lack of visible concern toward the custodians of Igbo heritage.
“Those who rise to power on the strength of our collective mandate must never forget where they come from,” Chief Ogbonna stated. “It is shameful that when our traditional rulers suffer, our so-called leaders are nowhere to be found. Respect for the throne is not just tradition—it is a duty. And any leader who neglects that duty does not deserve the love and loyalty of the people.”
He further called on all well-meaning Igbos to remember the betrayals and silence when it’s time to decide who deserves their support. “We will repay these leaders with the same coin—silence for silence, neglect for neglect.”
This visit serves as both a show of love and a loud wake-up call to Igbo political leaders: Our kings are not to be ignored. Our culture is not to be sidelined. And our unity will not be compromised.
High Chief Ogbonna advised the people in authority to water the ground for the youths, directing them on the track to grow, charges for fights against insecurity using the traditional rulers.
He highlights the insecurity as a bane to hunger and is opening the eyes of the youths on the 2027 general election.
