New Yam Festival: We promote peace not violence – Eze Ndi Igbo na kosofe
Eze Ndi Igbo na kosofe Osinachi 1has advised Igbo youths to use the period of new yam festival (Iri ji) to promote peace and shun acts of violence.
Interacting with newsmen during the new yam festival of his kingdom, Eze Ifeanyi Godwin Anyaogu said the festival calls for thanksgiving to God, who granted them a bountiful harvest, as it is not easy to plant and also have a bountiful harvest.
He described new yam festival in Igbo land as a great ceremony, as yam is a king crop.
The Eze Ndi Igbo na kosofe used the forum to appreciate the cabinet members, women and youths of Igbo speaking community in Lagos State for celebrating the festival peacefully, thanking God for the safe trip of a revered traditional ruler from the South East who came to witness the festival, according to him, HRM Eze Sir Innocent Adiele Nwaigwe Chairman Umuahia North council of traditional rulers was the royal father of the day and blessed the distinguished Nigerians who was confer with chieftaincy title by Eze Anyaogu.
