Ohuhu Welfare Union Youth Wing Raids Fulani Attackers’ Hideout in Local Bushes
The Ohuhu Welfare Union Youth Wing, under the leadership of Chief Uchenna Iheanacho, has made a significant breakthrough in bolstering local security by uncovering a hidden camp allegedly operated by suspected Fulani attackers in Ohuhu, Umuahia North local government area of Abia State.
During a routine security patrol and bush-combing exercise across Ohuhu land, the Youth Wing discovered makeshift thatch houses concealed deep within the forests between Isi Okata Umuawa Alaocha and Amaogwugwu, near the pipeline axis. These shelters were reportedly constructed without the knowledge or consent of the local community or its traditional leadership.
Acting swiftly, the Youth Wing alerted the authorities, and with the assistance of law enforcement officers, the suspects were apprehended at the scene. The men, who were operating in isolation and without any ties to the community, have since been handed over to the police for further investigation and necessary legal action.
Chief Uchenna Iheanacho commended the vigilance and courage of the Youth Wing, emphasizing the importance of community collaboration in ensuring the safety and security of Ohuhu land. He further called on residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
Local leaders have also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Youth Wing and the police, while urging for continued surveillance to prevent further unauthorized encampments and potential threats.
