Royal Gold Award, Chieftaincy title Form Umuahia North Council of Traditional Rulers New Yam Festival
The Chairman planning committee for Umuahia North new yam festival HRM Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu has again affirmed the traditional rulers council readiness to honour Mr Kenneth Nnamdi Ukeagu with Royal Gold Award and some other illustrious sons of Abia State to be confer with the chieftaincy title and award to celebrate them for their humanity edge.
Speaking after the committee meeting at the council headquarters on Friday, Eze Ofoegbu reiterated that the 2024 new yam festival will be the first of it kind, noting that the awardees were selected by their track record.
Eze Ofoegbu emphasized on the need to encourage the personalities who are spending their hard earned money to empower people across communities especially in the area of education grants and scholarships.
He maintained that the festival will hold on the 18th day of September, 2024.
The Diawa 1 of Umudiawa, disclosed that this year’s festival will be exceptional as there will be many cultural dancers and activities springing from the two sisters clan that is made up of Umuahia North. (Ibeku and Ohuhu)
