South East Progressive Traditional Rulers Council Chairman Welcomes Ndi Igbo To A Prosperous New Year With A Goodwill Message
Chairman South East progressive traditional rulers council HRM Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu have bid farewell to 2024, welcoming the New Year with renewed optimism in the days ahead.
Across the south east and country at large, millions of people gathered in churches, fun spots, and other places to usher in 2025. From Abia, Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi to Imo State, the atmosphere was light with fireworks, jubilations, and fun fare.
Just as the clock hit midnight, shouts of “Happy New Year” echoed across the Eastern region followed by fireworks adorning the skyline.
Eze Ofoegbu who is the paramount ruler of Umudiawa ancient kingdom, Oroko Abia said, as early as 6 pm, people converged on churches and public places across the Eastern region to begin the countdown to the New Year. Some State governments even organised events where residents stayed to welcome 2025.
Inflation has reached new levels in Nigeria, eating away the incomes of many and pushing the costs of basic items beyond the reach of millions of households.
Despite the stark realities of the out-gone year, many Nigerians especially worshippers who poured into churches to usher in 2025, are hopeful of a better future for the nation.
And declare; “in this year the Lord God has anointed us with oil of gladness above our fellows, the fire of the enemies will not burn us. Our ears will hear good news and we cannot hear voices of our enemies, our futures are secured in Christ Jesus IJN AMEN. We can never be thrown away or downgraded. There will be no poverty of body, Soul n Spirit in our lives this year. The Anointing of God upon our lives will give us favour in the eyes of God and Men and women all the days of our lives IJN AMEN” hr said.
We will not labour in vain and we will walk in this year in Victory and liberty of the Holy Spirit IJN
With a message of hope, renewal, and faith, this event drew worshippers from all walks of life.
Earlier, Eze Ofoegbu had ushered in the New Year. The first places to ring in the New Year were at his palace and the Christmas arena, which hit midnight some hours ago.
Eze Ofoegbu is by his new year message wishing Ndi Igbo across the globe a successful year in 2025, call on the gods of the land to protect Ndi Igbo wherever they are and prosper their endeavours.
