Following the recent post on a social media platform where they speculated that he gave a young man kolanut instead of the eldest man during” Ichu uñwu” Afugiri. According to him, the traditional ruler was not in attendance during the ceremony as it was purely an Afugiri affairs comprising 12 villages under the supervision of the the PG Afugiri Welfare union.

The traditional ruler of Umuegwu Obiohuru Afugiri autonomous community, Ohuhu clan in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State has made it clear that he will not be a party to any activities that will portray his community in a bad light.

To this end he warned the Umuecheagha people, one of the 10 kindreds in his community to stop using and dropping the names of Governor Alex Otti to disrupt governance in the community.

Responding to the unwelcomed and immature reports making the rounds, which portrayed him as irresponsible,
nonchalant and ignorant of age-old customs and traditions of the community., Eze Ngwuli, who is the chairman, Ohuhu Council of traditional rulers, wondered where such reports emanated owing to the peaceful disposition of his community.

He pointed out that the village head position in the community is rotational among the three kindreds that make up Umuokoroala, namely:
Umuokoro; Umuejibeme and Umuejeagha kindreds and his cabinet will not support anyone for a leadership position in the community, who has sacrilegious antecedents in his dossier.

Eze Ngwuli who reminded them and their co-travellers of the consequences of the disruptive activities, advised them to discontinue pursuing a failed agenda to make the community ungovernable through inimical and nefarious activities.

He passionately appealed to the governor to come to the aid of his community by creating an independent village for the Umuejeagha kindred, to enable them govern themselves the way they preferred.

His words, “Umuecheagha kindred is one out of the 10 kindreds in Umuegwu Obiohuru Afugiri Autonomous Community. I wonder why they are always trying to breach the peaceful stance of the remaining 9 kindreds with their futile pursuit of unsubstantiated claims

” Umuejeagha kindred should not always drag the name of HRM Eze Charles Chionye Ngwuli in any setback their inordinate ambition suffers. They should calm down and let the able government of Governor Alex Otti give directives on “ipa orji”and village headship in Umuokoroala Umuegwu Obiohuru Afugiri village”.

He reassured the Abia State Government of his unalloyed support, adding that his community would continue to remain loyal to the administration of Governor Alex Otti led government.

Eze Charles Chionye Ngwuli according to the available information and findings by this reporter, is a revered traditional ruler of Umuegwu Obiohuru Afugiri autonomous community and Chairman Ohuhu council of traditional rulers who has won the trust of people from his clan that led to his emergence as Chairman of traditional rulers across Ohuhu clan.

Other information available to our correspondent revealed that some persons from Umuecheagha who claimed to have installed the governor are fueling the community crisis, rather than using their wealth of knowledge and God given talents to attract developmental projects that will drive the community forward.
