The President Ohuhu Welfare Union Youth Wing, Comrade Iheanacho Uchenna, has expressed deep appreciation to the Provost and the Management of the Federal College of Education Ofeme for their tireless efforts in advancing the institution.
He stated this when members of Ohuhu Welfare Union Youth Wing paid him a solidarity visit in his office, ” we thank God for the successful siting of the institution in Ohuhu land and we commend you the Provost and your management team for your painstaking service as the pioneer head of the institution. We pray that God will continue to guide you. Be assured of our readiness to partner with the institution for its sustained growth and development”. He said
The Youth wing of Ohuhu Welfare Union, while thanking the management for the employment giving to Ohuhu sons and daughters, but like Oliver Twist, appealed to the Provost to consider them when waivers will be given for further employment. “Sir, we have qualified sons and daughters of Ohuhu both skilled and unskilled, please sir, whenever opportunities arise please don’t forget us”, he pleaded.
The President, Comrade Iheanacho, on behalf of the youth commended High Chief Ikechi Emenike for facilitating the establishment of the first higher institution in Ohuhu land.
The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Obioma Oburuoga, expressed gratitude to the Youth Council for their visit and avowed support to the new institution, he equally joined them in commending the Management and the Provost for the remarkable progress recorded thus far.
Responding, the Provost, Dr. Titus Sunday Ezeme, while welcoming the delegation, described their visit as highly motivating. ” I appreciate the Ohuhu community for their continuous support which I believe has helped in moving the institution forward”. He said.
The Provost commended the role High Chief Ikechi Emenike whom he described as a visionary leader behind the establishment of the College played. He also expressed gratitude to the Abia State Governor Dr Alex Chioma Oti, for his contributions to the infrastructural development of the institution.
Dr. Ezeme assured the delegation of his commitment to the growth and success of the institution. He encouraged the Youth Council to sensitize the community to register their wards with JAMB and select the College as their first choice. “You see we have to increase our enrollment to meet a certain benchmark which is vital for sustaining the institution and attracting investment from TETFund and other government agencies “. He said.
Addressing their employment concerns, the Provost assured the Youths that subsequent recruitment exercises will endeavour to address their request especially the qualified ones.
