“By December 7, the administration of the current Local Government Chairmen will come to an end. So while they are tidying up things on their table, we have a duty of going round to check what they have been able to do so far since they came into office. Many of them seem to have performed creditably well, that is why my Committee will be going round to see things for oursleves so that we can report back to the House for necessary legislative actions. In the other way round, the tour will also provide and opportunity to showcase and project the achievements of the various council Chairmen to the generality of Akwa Ibom people home and abroad. That will correct the notion that Local Government Chairmen are not working on the part of those Chairmen who have done so well. We will visit all the Local Government Council without notice in order to avoid staged managed briefings and situations” The lawmaker stated.
He warned that the committee will not hesitate to take action when there’s need and therefore advised the Chairmen to follow the footsteps of the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno and ensure that their Councilors and Supervisors as well as their entire team are happy as they will be leaving office to avoid fighting and other problems that may be detrimental to the growth and development of the local government area, particularly, the Peoples Democratic Party.
