HRH Eze Ifeanyi Godwin Anyaogu, Eze Ndi Igbo, Kosofe Lagos, Is A Detribalised Nigerian, A Philanthropist & A Unifier

*…He is Collectively Chosen to Lead Ndi Igbo in Kosofe LGA, Lagos State*

Our attention has been drawn to an online publication dated December 6th 2023, wherein the writers fruitlessly attempted to misrepresent the personality of the person of HRH Eze Ifeanyi Anyaogu, the Eze Ndi Igbo of Kosofe in Kosofe LGA of Lagos State.

News Angle Magazine and other notable online platforms saw the publication and carefully read through, and concluded that the writers threaded on either absolute falsehood or are driven by lack of knowledge on the true principle of national integration, co-habitation and collective collaboration to achieve national peace, unity and progress of all Nigerians wherever one finds himself or herself.

As media aides to Eze Anyaogu, we would have ignored the publication on account of misrepresentation of truth and facts, but for vulnerable Nigerians who may be hoodwinked into believing the publication as truth, we decided to reply to put the records straight and to educate those that are ignorant on what happened, and the true identity of Eze Anyaogu.

Lagos State is a Federating State of Nigeria, operating under the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, as amended.

The constitution also recognizes the rights and privileges of every Nigerian where ever any Nigerian finds himself/herself.

The constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria also harps on co-habitation, promotion of peace and unity, irrespective of tribe or religion.

The local laws of Lagos State like other federating states are not in any way contradicting with the laws of the Federal Fepublic of Nigeria.

The fact is that Eze Ifeanyi Anyaogu was endorsed to head Igbo indigenes residents in Kosofe land .

The practice is the same across the 36 states of Nigeria and Abuja.

For example, in Abia State where Eze Ifeanyi Anyaogu comes from, there are leaders of Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Efik and other ethnic groups.
These groups agree to elect a leader: Sariki, Oba, Eze, Chief or Immam or whatever title the group consider appriopriate.

Thus, it is important to underscore the fact that this does not in anyway portent to usurpation of the revered throne of the indigenous people in the area of residence. In the case of Eze Ifeanyi Anyaogu, his enthronement as leader or Eze Ndi Igbo in Kosofe has happened peacefully without any problem, either did it contravene the laws and tradition of Kosofe land and by extention, Lagos State. What these group of uninformed writers were referring to is only but the decision of Eze Ndi Igbo in Kosofe land throwing party/entertainment to the people of Ndi Igbo, their host/friends in Kosofe LGA of Lagos State.

To further update the writers knowledge, the essence of organizing indigenes living within an area is to enhance unity, maintain peace and support the administration of their host in the foreign land where they find themselves.

Eze Anyaogu has lived all his life in Kosofe, Lagos State. He operates peacefully with lndigenous Traditional institutions and political administration in Kosofe land and beyond.

Records has shown that Eze Anyaogu has contributed immensely to the development of Kosofe, and Lagos State.

He knows his boundaries and respects traditional and political institutionsin the area. Never a time has he laid claim or attempt to disrupt traditional institutions of Lagos State as erroneously alleged.

Again, Eze Anyaogu is a notable philanthropist, he has given support and scholarships not only to his Igbo brothers, but also to the Yorubas and other ethnic persons living in Kosofe LGA, of Lagos State.

He has promoted the political interests of natives in Kosofe LGA of Lagos State. That explains why he chose to support APC candidates of yoruba extraction from governorship, House of Assembly, National Assembly and the Presidency.

He often pays allegiance to Native Traditional Rulers in Kosofe LGA, and other Lagos Royal Fathers; and his actions only point to the direction of support and promotion of peace, unity and co operations among various ethnic tribes in Nigeria, thereby promoting National Integration and ethnic tolerance.

Records are very clear how Eze Anyaogu for years turn down the request to lead Igbos in Kosofe land.

He accepted the offer only when he saw that the position could be used to promote national peace, co-existence of his people living and doing business in Kosofe land of Lagos State.

Since he accepted the responsibility, he has invested his time and money to achieve co-habitation between Igbos and other tribes including their host in Kosofe LGA.

Those behind the authors of the recent online publication are only anti peace, trying to instigate violence, and undermine the pro – active and effective governments of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.

However, we use this platform to advice the authors and those behind the publication to give peace a chance, embrace Federal Government of Nigeria policy of co-habitation and peaceful co-existence.

We also advice members of the public to disregard such publication and appreciate the contributions of Eze Ifeanyi Godwin Anyaogu in promoting development, peace and unity not only in Kosofe LGA, but across the entirety of Lagos State and Nigeria.
