RE-UP GRADE AND CONVERSION OF ACHARA UTURU COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE TO FMC UMUAHIA ANNEX
RE-UP GRADE AND CONVERSION OF ACHARA UTURU COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE TO FMC UMUAHIA ANNEX
I am thrilled by the recent announcement of the federal government’s approval of the plan to upgrade and convert our own Achara Uturu Community Health Centre to an annex of the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia. This milestone aligns with my long-held vision of bringing critical tertiary health interventions closer to our people, a dream I embarked on with the establishment of Gregory University Specialist Hospital many years ago.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my brother, Hon. Amobi Ogah, for his instrumental role in facilitating this laudable project. As Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Control, his support has been invaluable. It is on record that I made several efforts to secure the partnership of past administrations of Abia state in a bid to convert the facility to a secondary health institution.I am thus delighted that my younger brother has been able to achieve this milestone.
This development heralds a new era for Uturu, Isuikwuato, Umunneochi, and the entire Abia North Senatorial Zone. I am eager to see the positive impact this will have on the health and wellbeing of our community.
