There is No Division in Umuyota, An Eze-Elect Has Emerged; Leaders of Umuyota Community Says; Warns Imposters
The People of Umuyota Autonomous Community in Umuawa-Alaocha, Ohuhu, Umuahia North LGA has reacted to a press release purportedly signed by one imposter named Chikamara Metuh.
In a press release signed by Mr. Bright Udeh the Youth President of the Umuokarafor Community, the community where both Mr. Adimchinobi Abraham and High Chief Sonny Uwakwe Nlewedim hails from has advised members of the public to disregard the so-called press release trying to present the emergence of Chief Sonny Nlewedim as the Eze-Elect of Umuyota Autonomous Community in dispute.
According to Mr Udeh “I am the youth president of Umuokarafor, who was unanimously elected by the entire youths of Umuokarafor, Mr. Chikamara Metuh, is not a youth president, nor an executive in Umuokarafor or Umuyota”.
His imposition clearly shows that the press release is a hatchet job aimed at misleading members of the public to believe that there is a division in Umuyota where there is none.
Chief Sunny Nlewedim was unanimously elected as the Eze-Elect by the screening committee and ractified by the Eze-in-Council in line with the constitution of the people “.
“As was seen when he was presented at the local government as Eze-Elect, it was like a carnival, with the four village heads of the four communities, the President-General, the woman leader, and all leaders and people of Umuyota fully represented.
“This shows the acceptance and popularity of Chief Nlewedim amongst our people”.
“While we respect the right of our brother, Mr. Adimchinobi Abraham to seek redress in court if he feels aggrieved, we will not tolerate people claiming to be who they are not, or misrepresenting facts”.
There is no division in Umuokarafor as well as Umuyota, the majority of the people are fully with Sakwe We will not fail to sanction those who are imposters who due to their pecuniary gains are hell bend on extorting money from our brother Mr. Adimchi by presenting an imaginary division which only exists in their mind, just to extort money from Mr. Adimchinobi Abraham who is far away in United States of America and not in tune with the reality back home” he stated.
