How Gov Umo Eno Changed the Story of a Physically Challenged Entrepreneur, Jones
Meet Mr. Jones Okon Akpan, a physically challenged enterpreneur from Itu Local Government Area whose life was completely changed by Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno.
Jones, a graduate of the Ibom Entrepreneurial Development Centre – Ibom-LED, was among the 800 beneficiaries who received 500,000 Naira each last year.
What made Jones different was his determination in the face of physical challenges to build a thriving business.
During presentation of cheques to the Ibom-LED beneficiaries, the compassionate Governor spotted Jones and was deeply moved by his condition and directed that he be given additional support to ensure he has a sustainable means of livelihood.
Few weeks later, Jones received a fully furnished Business Centre with latest equipment, a brand-new tricycle and additional cash support of one million naira. This support has helped Jones to expand his business, increase his income, and improve his standard of living.
Jones’s story is indeed a proof of Governor Umo Eno’s humanitarian disposition which has unprecedentedly impacted the vulnerable and other members of the society.
