Hon. Akaliro Secures Additional Green Shuttle Bus for Ohuhu as Gov. Otti Approves Request

The member representing Umuahia North (Ohuhu) State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro, has commended the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, for approving his request for an additional Green Shuttle bus to serve the Umuhu axis of Ohuhu.

The lawmaker also thanked the honourable commissioner of Transport, Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu for his role in ensuring the approval and the deployment of the green shuttle bus.

Hon. Akaliro had approached Gov. Otti with a request for an additional shuttle bus to expand transportation coverage in Ohuhu, particularly to communities along the Umuhu axis. The governor has graciously approved the request.

The newly approved Green Shuttle bus will commence operations on Thursday, September 17, 2026, and will operate from the Nnenna Otti Bus Terminal, through Ossah RD , Amafor Junction, Umoriehi Junction to Tower, and onward to Ekeoba Junction, Umudiawa Junction, Umuagu Junction, before terminating at Umuda Ofeme. It will then repeat the same route back to the terminal.

The development is expected to complement the existing Green Shuttle bus already operating along the Ohuhu Ring Road, which covers a significant portion of the Okaiuga axis of the clan.

With the additional shuttle now approved following Hon. Akaliro’s request, transportation coverage will be extended to more communities across Ohuhu, bringing the Green Shuttle service closer to residents in previously underserved areas.

Expressing his appreciation, Hon. Akaliro thanked Governor Alex Otti for the swift and favourable response to his request, describing the approval as another demonstration of the governor’s responsiveness to the transportation needs of the people.

The lawmaker assured Governor Otti of the continued support of the people of Ohuhu, particularly as the state moves towards the 2027 general elections.

The legislator said the additional Green Shuttle would not only improve mobility for residents but also provide a more accessible and affordable transportation option for people travelling between the communities and Umuahia metropolis.
