Club 17 Initiative Inaugurates Local Government Media Team.
As foremost NGO whose vision is geared towards the orientation of the citizens and dissemination of factual and truthful information within the country. Club 17 initiative yesterday in Umuahia inaugurated a seventeen man media team, made up of seasoned media personalities across the 17 Local government area of Abia State.
While inaugurating the media team, Barr. ( help me add name) charged members of the media team to diligently do their job in accordance with the constitution of the Initiative and with utmost conformity with rules of media practice and the Nigerian Constitution.
While responding, one the media team members, ( help me add name) Thanked the Initiative for finding them worthy to work in such capacity and promised that the team will meet and surpass their expectations while working in tandem with the stated rules.
It will be recalled that Club 17 Initiative had last year inaugurate a five man peace corp marshal in each of the wards in Abia State. This she did in attempt to drive home the importance of peaceful coexistence among Nigerians which in line with the ideologies of Rt Hon. Ben Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives.
Prior to the inauguration, the state media officer, Hon. Okey Iboko stated that the team will need collective and individual support from the members of Club 17 initiative in their respective LGA’s to be able to work efficiently. He promised to synergize with the team.
Fake news with is attendant disastrous effect can not be underestimated. Hence with this move,Club 17 has prepared herself to exterminate false narratives and to give Abians and Nigerians right and accurate information that is not sensationalised.
