GOV UMO ENO: AKWA IBOM’s NEW FACE OF COMPASSION
In a rapidly evolving world, where governments are increasingly judged by their ability to cater to the well-being of their citizens, and maintaining the sanity of its climb, Governor Umo Eno stand tall as the mirror of welfare and inclusive governance in Akwa lbom.
Flared by his Golden Era’s litany of compassionate governance, and politics of inclusion, devoid of party lines, Pastor Umo Eno has demonstrated an exceptional dedication to social welfare and human-centered development of Akwa lbom people.
His government’s approach to development goes beyond mere policy declarations; it is actively transforming lives especially the vulnerable group of people in the society
Like the Arise Compassionate Homes Initiative, which provides free, fully furnished homes to the most vulnerable citizens. Gov Umo Eno administration, out of the 400 earmarked compassionate homes, he has so far built, furnished, and handed over 167 completed standard 2-bedroom apartments with solar technology to low-income families, widows, and physically challenged individuals in the state in order to provide shelter and security to those who have struggled for years without a decent place to live.
Another major pillar of Gov Umo Eno’s new face of Compassion is food security and economic empowerment. The Arise Free Food Voucher program has been a lifeline for many struggling households in Akwa Ibom, ensuring they access basic food supplies at a minimal cost
On Entrepreneurship, Gov Umo Eno through the Entrepreneurship Accelerated Program(EAP) has trained and empowered 900 youth of Akwa lbom in various crafts and skills even with start up grants of 500,000 and 750,000 respectively
In the aspect of Agriculture, his administration has strengthened agricultural support programs, providing farmers with resources, training, and financial aid to enhance food production and boost the rural economy. Like few days ago, 25 million was given to 50 Arise Home Garden Farmers to boost their output. These efforts would not only alleviate hunger but also promote self-sufficiency and long-term economic stability.
In both the First and Second Phase of One Project Per Local Government, Governor Eno’s social welfare strategy also prioritizes healthcare service. He has overseen the establishment of modern primary health centers across various local government areas, ensuring that even the most remote communities receive quality medical care.
To improve the living standard of pensioners, his administration has so far cleared and paid a backlog of 47 billion naira from the long-standing gratuity arrears for retirees and ensured prompt salary payments to civil servants, reaffirming his government commitment in ensuring that those who serve the state should be treated with respect and fairness.
Under Governor Umo Eno’s leadership, Akwa Ibom is emerging as a mirror of compassionate governance in Nigeria, where the well-being of every citizen is a top priority.
