BOT Member Ndigbo Progressive Traditional Rulers Forum Notes IBB Revelation as a Turn Around for Igbos and Nigeria at large

The Ndigbo Progressive Traditional Rulers Forum has commended former Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida for revealing the true position and cause of the 1966 civil war in Nigeria.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers, HRM Eze Dr. Oliver Ohanwe, the traditional ruler of Isiama Autonomous Community, Isiala-Mbano local government area of Imo State said the Igbos has been vindicated by the latest confession made by Ibrahim Babangida.

The traditional rulers made their position known during their latest closed door executive session. They expressed joy while stating that the world has known the hidden truth.

HRM Ohanwe said that the colonisation and hatred was the handiwork of the colonial masters.

He held firm that the book, “The Journey of Life” has revealed everything.

He thanked Ibrahim Babangida for spending time to reveal the true position of things in Nigeria.

“The confession and revelation from his book has really given us the right to fellowship, a right to live in Nigeria. Everything that has been done to us was an act of wickedness, therefore let Igbos know themselves, let the entire word know that we’re victims of circumstances.” HRM Ohanwe said.

He added that the Igbos fought the war not because they wanted to be a nation but for themselves and yet lost over 3 million people including, women and children.

Recounting the loss of property and investments, he said Igbos were given only “20 pounds but today Igbos are flourishing”.

He also added that Igbos were killed in vain and the marginalization continued till date is also in vain.

“Igbos know yourselves, be your brother’s keeper, that which God has bestowed on us we must make use of them”. HRM Ohanwe said.

He also called on Igbos all over the world to love themselves, their neighbors as well as other ethnic groups.

He faulted General Yakubu Gowon for having knowledge of the cause of the civil war but kept mute.

“The then Head of States, General Yakubu Gowon knew all these things and did not come out to say it, and yet, he claimed to be a Christian. Christian spirit without a Christian practice is a condemnation.

“Thank you Ibrahim Babangida for leaving up to who you are because you have really liberated us, you have removed our shame, now the truth has come out”. HRM Ohanwe said.

He further described the revelation by Babangida as a confession which should serve as a turn around for Igbos and Nigeria at large.
