Hon Okezie Obasi, calls on constituents and indeed Abians to get there permanent Voters Cards Card ( PVC )

A grass root political activist and 2027 Umuahia East State House Of Assembly hopeful , Hon Okezie Obasi , has called for political vigilance and civic responsibility among electorate stressing that time has come for them to “take their destiny in their hands” by securing their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing a large gathering during the first enlarge meeting of the year 2026, at Ossah Ibeku in Umuahia North LGA, Hon. Obasi emphasized the need for the electorate to vote only leaders with verifiable records of performance, while voting out those whose tenure have been marked by “selfish personal interests rather than service.”

During an opinion poll conducted at the event, members of the association expressed strong dissatisfaction with what they described as poor representation by their current elected officials. They urged the Senator representing Abia Central, Senator Austin Akobundu, the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency Hon. Obi Aguocha, and the lawmaker representing Umuahia East State Constituency Rt. Hon. Austin Mmeregini to live upto to the expectations of the electorates who voted them into office or risk being voted out.

The group warned that political officeholders hoping to ride on the back of the Obidient movement for re-election in “2027 will be greatly disappointed.

In his closing remarks, Hon. Obasi encouraged members to draw strength and patience from the parable of the Wheat and Tares in Matthew 13:30, likening the 2027 elections to a moment of separation between genuine leaders and pretenders.

The meeting which had notable Member of the association in attendance ended on a note of merriment while the date for next meeting was fixed for March 2026.
