*LABOUR PARTY URGES ABIA RESIDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN INEC CONTINUOUS VOTER REGISTRATION EXERCISE*
The Labour Party in Abia State wishes to inform all Abia indigenes, residents, supporters, and lovers of good governance that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially approved the resumption of Phase III of the Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) Exercise.
According to the approved timetable released by INEC, the registration exercise will commence on Monday, 11th May, 2026 and run through 10th July, 2026. The exercise will include both online pre-registration and physical (in-person) registration across designated INEC registration centres nationwide.
This exercise provides another important opportunity for eligible Nigerians who have attained voting age, those who are yet to register, individuals seeking replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and citizens who wish to transfer their voting location to Abia State, to do so within the stipulated period.
The Labour Party particularly urges all supporters and admirers of the transformational leadership of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, to take this exercise seriously. Supporting good governance goes beyond admiration on social media or verbal endorsement; it must be backed by active civic participation through voter registration and voting during elections.
If you truly believe in the new Abia being built through infrastructural renewal, economic reforms, educational advancement, healthcare improvements, and people-oriented governance, then you must ensure that you possess a valid PVC and are fully prepared to participate in the 2027 general elections.
We also encourage Abians living outside the State who desire to vote in Abia during the next election cycle to take advantage of this window to officially transfer their PVCs to their preferred polling units within the State.
Eligible citizens are advised to visit any INEC office or designated registration centre closest to them for physical registration, while online pre-registration can also be completed through the approved INEC portal before final physical capture.
The Labour Party remains committed to promoting democratic participation, voter education, and peaceful civic engagement across Abia State and Nigeria at large.
Your PVC remains your power.
You cannot genuinely claim to support Governor Alex Otti and the progressive movement in Abia without being electorally empowered to vote.
