Ohuhu Council of traditional rulers yesterday has taken a decisive decision calling on every contestant across Umuahia North local government area from various political parties to play the politics of sportsmanship, shun campaign of calumny and other related actions.
The monarchs in an emergency meeting summoned by their chairman HRH Eze Charles Chionye Ngwuli at his palace advised other traditional rulers to take the message home, comply with the directives by drawing the attention of their sons and daughters who are contesting under any political party to adhere with.
Eze Ngwuli stated that issue based politicking is the factual evidence of what the people want, adding that their meeting with their Ibeku counterparts will be put on paper through their communique.
The traditional rulers of Ohuhu Council members unanimously agreed to the point raised, noting that Umuahia North is known for peace, urging interested persons not to inject bad blood nor sponsor thuggery in Umuahia North political affairs.
Eze Ngwuli reiterates their resolve to ensure democracy is rooted in the mindset of their subjects, adding that it is one of the defining legacies of traditional rulers as the custodians of the people’s culture.
