SSUCOEN Elects New National Officers at 3rd Petenial Conference
The Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education, Nigeria (SSUCOEN) has elected new National Officers who will pilot the affairs of the Union for the next five years. The election was conducted during the Union’s 3rd Petenial Conference held at the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Abuja.
At the end of the exercise, Comrade Akiniyi Akinyele of FCE (Special), Oyo, emerged as the National President, while Comrade Dr. Aminu Auwal of FCE (Technical), Bichi, was elected National Secretary. Comrade Baba Ndaliman of USACOE, Minna, emerged as the National Treasurer.
Other elected National Officers are:
Comrade Ekine B. Pakaye – FCE (Technical), Omoku – Deputy National President
Comrade Inuwa Girei – FCE, Yola – National Financial Secretary
Comrade Obojor O. Oyigoja – FCE, Obudu – National Auditor
Comrade Dahiru Gurama – FCE (Technical), Gombe – National Assistant Secretary
Comrade Chioma Obi – NOCOE, Nsugbe – National Woman Leader
The newly elected officers were inaugurated and sworn into office immediately after the election.
In his acceptance speech, the President-elect, Comrade Akiniyi Akinyele, pledged to provide inclusive leadership, strengthen the Union, and build upon the achievements of the immediate past administration. He assured members of his commitment to advancing the welfare and interests of SSUCOEN members across the country.
