*14 BRIGADE MARKS EID EL-FITR WITH PRAYERS, RESTATES RENEWED COMMITMENT TO UNITY AND SERVICE.*
The spirit of devotion, gratitude, and unity filled the air at the 14 Brigade Parade Ground as Muslim faithful gathered to celebrate Eid al-Fitr. The festival signifies the end of the holy month of Ramadan is observed globally as a period of prayers, feasting, charity, and family bonding, Eid al-Fitr—often referred to as the “small Sallah”—was commemorated with solemnity and joy on Friday, 20 March 2026.
The celebration at the Brigade commenced with the arrival of the Commander, Brigadier General Ahmad Mansur Dikko, setting the tone for a well-organized and spiritually uplifting gathering. The Eid prayer session which was led by the Brigade Imam, Major MH Ilal-Amam drew officers, soldiers, and their families into a moment of collective worship and reflection.
Delivering the sermon, the Brigade Imam emphasized the enduring values of faith, discipline, and obedience to divine commandments. He urged the faithful to sustain spiritual lessons of Ramadan by remaining steadfast in prayer, demonstrating compassion, and upholding moral integrity in both personal and professional lives.
In his admonition, the Brigade Imam, Major M H Ilal-Amam, called on Muslim personnel to be exemplary ambassadors of Islam at all times. He stressed the importance of embodying peace, humility, and tolerance, especially within the diverse and dynamic environment of military service.
On his part, Brigadier General AM Dikko, in his heartfelt address, commended the Muslim faithful for successfully completing the Ramadan fast. He noted that the discipline, sacrifice, and patience demonstrated during the holy month are virtues that align closely with the ethos of the Nigerian Army. He encouraged all personnel to carry forward these values into their duties, emphasizing unity, mutual respect, and unwavering commitment to national security. The Commander further prayed for continued peace, progress, and operational success within the Brigade and beyond.
Also speaking, the 14 Brigade Imam, Major M H Ilal-Amam in his goodwill message,expressed gratitude to Allah for granting the faithful the strength to observe Ramadan and witness Eid. He encouraged continued acts of charity, kindness, and brotherhood, reminding the congregation that Eid is not only a celebration but also a time to strengthen bonds and extend goodwill to all. He prayed for divine guidance, protection for troops in all theatres of operation, and lasting peace across the nation.
The event concluded with group photograph which captured moments of unity, shared faith, and collective pride.
The Eid celebration at 14 Brigade once again underscored the importance of religious harmony, moral discipline, and enduring bond among personnel, reflecting the core values of service and humanity within the Nigerian Army.
