Happy New Month of May, Ndi Ohuhu!
High Chief Uchenna Patrick Ogbonna (Dike Ohuhu, Pat-Urchman) warmly wishes all Ohuhu people, both at home and in the diaspora, a peaceful and blessed new month.
In his message, he urges everyone to embrace peace amid the ongoing issues surrounding the Ohuhu Welfare Union Executive election. He calls on all sons and daughters of Ohuhu to remain calm, law-abiding, and to respect the authority of the Council of Traditional Rulers, the highest leadership body in the land.
He reaffirms that under the chairmanship of His Royal Majesty Eze Charles Ngwuli, all decisions taken by the Council and its cabinet members stand and must be respected. He condemns the division among traditional rulers and appeals for unity, dialogue, mutual respect, and understanding
He emphasizes that the Chairman was duly elected and should be allowed to complete his tenure. Any call for him to step aside without due process is improper and unacceptable, and can been seen as conduct likely to breach the peace of the community, which punishable under the criminal code. Only a two-thirds majority of the Council of Ndi Eze can legitimately pass a vote of no confidence,not a handful of individuals or traditional rulers.
He therefore appeals to all to allow peace to reign, support the existing leadership, and wait for the appropriate time to effect any changes through due process.
He prays that Ohuhu land will be blessed with a capable and dedicated President-General and executive who will truly serve the interests of the Ohuhu people and promote unity, progress, and development, and not one that will be more loyal to Ibeku than Ohuhu. Let’s be mindful and properly guided in the election of a president general, as one of the candidates will be more loyal to Ibeku community than Ohuhu, which will be dangerous to have such person lead Ohuhu.
