Ohuhu Council of Traditional Rulers Dissolves Caretaker Committee, Cites Irregularities
The Ohuhu Council of Traditional Rulers has announced the dissolution of the Caretaker Committee of the Ohuhu Welfare Union following a series of complaints and allegations of irregularities.
According to the Council, numerous petitions were received alleging misconduct on the part of the committee. The Chairman of the Council highlighted key concerns, including the alleged unlawful disqualification of a candidate, which contravenes the Union’s constitution. He further noted reports from credible sources indicating that the delegates’ list may have been compromised, a situation that has generated serious tension within the committee.
In a decisive move to prevent any form of electoral malpractice and to safeguard peace in Ohuhu land, the revered monarchs resolved to dissolve the committee.
Consequently, the election earlier scheduled for 27th April 2026 has been postponed. A new date will be announced after a thorough review and proper scrutiny of the issues raised.
His Royal Highness, Eze Chionye Ngwuli, made this known while addressing the press alongside other respected traditional rulers of Ohuhu.
