Empowering Communications: Enhancing Trust : 2025 PPRO’s Conference

Day 2 was another shade of an amazing experience. The highlight for me was gaining a better understanding of the letter the IGP wrote to me as the Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Command. This write-up can be classified into parts, with each part communicating a centrally important message.

Join me as I unfold this letter.

The first part clearly stated who I am in the office I occupy as the Police Public Relations Officer, Abia Command. He called me the custodian of the public image of the Nigeria Police Force in Abia State, a strategic adviser, a manager of stakeholders relationships, a coordinator of crisis management and the defender of the institutional reputation of the Nigeria Police Force in Abia State.

He said my office is not minor or peripheral but central to institutional performance and credibility within the Nigeria Police Force. He described me as a frontline operational instrument and the commander of the frontline in the battlefield of the mind. He called me the voice of the Police in Abia State, adding that the stories I craft and tell represent the voice of the Nigeria Police Force. Hence, he emphasized that my responsibility is not only powerful but indispensable.

For the first time in a long while, I truly looked deeply into what I represent in my organization and it got me thinking deeply. 🤔🤔
