OHUHU WELFARE UNION CARETAKER COMMITTEE REITERATES COMMITMENT TO INCLUSIVENESS AND A BETTER OHUHU

The Ohuhu Welfare Union Worldwide Caretaker Committee having formally accepted the extension of its service to conduct a fresh election, following the approval of the Ohuhu Council of Elders and the Traditional Rulers Council, chaired by HRM Eze Charles Chionye Ngwuli. The Committee reaffirmed its resolve to carry all stakeholders and concerned citizens along in the collective pursuit of a better Ohuhu.

The Committee, led by Rev. Soki Ekeledo as Chairman and High Chief Ogbonna as Secretary, described the extension as a defining moment in the clan’s quest to consolidate its growing socio-cultural influence and strengthen internal stability.

In a statement reflecting renewed unity within Ohuhu land, the leadership of the Caretaker Committee also paid glowing tribute to the late interim chairman, Dr Emeka Okengwu, whose passing while in service came as a great shock to the entire clan.

Rev. Ekeledo noted that the Committee would continue to deploy courageous and strategic efforts in navigating the affairs of the Ohuhu Welfare Union through a period previously marked by internal disputes and political uncertainties.

Speaking shortly after the development, the Secretary, High Chief Ogbonna, expressed confidence in the capacity of the leadership to reposition the Union for greater success ahead of future electoral engagements.

“Our commitment to Ohuhu is total. We will work in close collaboration with the Council of Elders, the Traditional Rulers Council, and all critical stakeholders to ensure that the vision and objectives of the Welfare Union are not only achieved but sustained. The Ohuhu Welfare Union Worldwide will continue to play a strategic role in the growth, unity, and development of our land,” Ogbonna stated.

Chief Ogbonna further expressed profound appreciation to the Council of Elders and the Traditional Rulers Council for their unwavering support and steadfast commitment to the Welfare Union, describing them as the clan’s foremost ambassadors and a driving force behind the Union’s growing acceptance and popularity.

The Chairman also called on the people of Ohuhu to exercise restraint in making disparaging remarks against the traditional institution, which he described as the custodian of the people’s culture, values, and heritage. He stressed the need for concerns and grievances to be presented constructively rather than through confrontation, noting that all sons and daughters of Ohuhu owe a collective responsibility to uphold the dignity, heritage, and honor of the land.
