TROOPS RAID SUSPECTED IPOB/ESN NETWORK, ARRESTS ACCOMPLICE IN ABIA
Troops of Sector 3, Operation UDO KA, achieved a significant operational success on 30 April 2026 during ongoing Operation EASTERN SANITY. In close coordination with other security agencies, the troops conducted a precise intelligence-led operation in Abia State, resulting in the arrest of a suspected member of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
The operation, carried out at Obinto Village in Ihiechiowa, Arochukwu Local Government Area, led to the apprehension of 36-year-old Emmanuel James Amah. A subsequent search of the suspect yielded exhibits linked to separatist activities, including Biafran currency notes: eight pieces of 5 shillings, thirteen pieces of 10 shillings, and twenty-one pieces of 1 pound denominations.
The suspect and recovered items are currently in custody for further investigation, with efforts underway to identify and dismantle additional criminal networks operating in the area.
This successful operation underscores the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to neutralizing threats, safeguarding communities, and ensuring peace and stability across the region. Troops remain vigilant, disciplined, and resolute in their mission to protect law-abiding citizens.
