*NADCEL 2026: 14 BRIGADE HOLDS SPECIAL JUMMA’AT PRAYERS AS COMMANDER CHARGES TROOPS ON PROFESSIONALISM AND DEDICATION TO DUTY*
As part of activities marking the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL), 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, on Friday, 26 June 2026, held special Jumma’at prayers for Muslim faithfuls. The prayer session which was held at the Central Mosque, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Barracks, Ohafia was led by Imam Murtala Sani, attracted senior officers, officers, soldiers, and their families.
In his sermon, Imam Murtala Sani extolled the virtues of righteousness, discipline, patience, gratitude, and total reliance on Almighty Allah in all undertakings. He encouraged them to remain steadfast in faith and to continue exhibiting the values of honesty, sacrifice, unity, and selfless service in both their personal lives and military careers. Special prayers were offered for the Federal Republic of Nigeria, seeking lasting peace, unity, stability, and prosperity across the nation. The Imam also prayed for the continued success of the 82 Division Nigerian Army, the 14 Brigade, and all formations and units of the Nigerian Army.
On his part, the Commander 14 Brigade, Brigadier General AM Dikko, while addressing the congregation, congratulated the troops for their unwavering commitment to the service of the nation and commended them of their sacrifices in ensuring peace and security within the Brigade’s area of responsibility and beyond. He urged all personnel to remain diligent, disciplined, and professional in the discharge of their constitutional duties, stressing that dedication, loyalty, teamwork, and adherence to the core values of the Nigerian Army remain essential to achieving operational success.
Brigadier General Dikko further encouraged troops to continue supporting the vision and leadership of the Chief of Army Staff Lt General Waidi Shaibu Nigeria Army Medal (NAM) by maintaining the highest standards of military ethics, discipline, and operational readiness. He expressed confidence in the ability of the officers and soldiers to remain resolute in the face of emerging security challenges while upholding the honour and reputation of the Nigerian Army.
The special Jumma’at prayers formed one of the key spiritual activities lined up for the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL), providing an opportunity for Muslim faithfuls to seek divine guidance and blessings for the nation, the Nigerian Army, and all personnel. The event also reaffirms the Brigade’s commitment to fostering unity, religious harmony, and spiritual well-being among its personnel as they continue to discharge their constitutional responsibilities in service to the nation.
