Troops of Operation UDO KA 145 Battalion ( Rear) have arrested two suspects and recovered a locally fabricated pistol following a swift response to a distress call in Amaoba-Ime Community, Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State. Personnel of the Battalion had on 22 June 2026 responded to a report from the Chief Security Officer of the Amaoba-Ime Community Vigilante.
Preliminary investigations revealed that one 20 year old John Nndoze, discovered a locally fabricated pistol inside a polythene bag entrusted to him by one Mr Moses Uchenna Aleka. Concerned by the discovery, he reported the matter to security operatives. It was further gathered that in retaliation for reporting the incident, Mr Moses Uchenna Aleka, his elder brother, Mr Emmanuel Uchenna, and other associates allegedly assaulted Mr John Nndoze, inflicting multiple bruises on him.
Following the intervention of troops, Mr Emmanuel Uchenna and Mr John Nndoze were taken into custody for further interrogation, while the locally fabricated pistol was recovered by the troops. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other suspects connected to the incident.
